A lecture by Guy Corneau of Montreal Friday, January 14, 7:30-10 p.m. Dawson College Amphitheatre, Room 4C.1 (Subject to revision) We are not so much victims of others and outer situations but victims of our own personality and its fears, expectations, negative beliefs, and protective behaviours. In other words, we are prisoners of the past. Seeking to protect ourselves against the repetition of dire events, we nevertheless attract people who will have the power to explode this protective structure. This suggests the influence of the deeper self and its creative impulse that are trying to emerge. In fact by believing that we are victims, we become our very own tyrants and betray the energy that is the source of our life and our happiness. The lecture will propose strategies to relax the personality structure and get in touch with our deeper, creative individuality. Guy Corneau is a Jungian analyst and an internationally recognized author and lecturer. Among his books in English are Absent Fathers, Lost Sons (1991, Shambala) and Lessons in Love: The Transformation of Spirit Through Intimacy. Victim of Others or Victimizer of Oneself will be published at a later date. In 1997, together with a group of artists and therapists, he created Productions Coeur.com and led innovative seminars to heal the heart through psychological understanding and _expression. ======================= Alan Annand, astrologer, is offering a weekend Palmistry workshop on Saturday/Sunday, February 5/6, 2005 in NDG.
